Vineyards

Calispone's Vineyards are located in 2 valleys in the county of Narni, close to the town of Gualdo di Narni. They have a southern exposure over steep slopes with altitudes between 250 and 350 a.s.l.
Soils are calcareous and clayish, poor in organic material but very rich in marine fossil skeleton which can be easily seen due to the many sea shells found on the surface.
Special attention is focused on the production of grapes in excellent conditions, limiting as far as possible the application of synthetic products. Yields in harvesting are limited to 3500-4000 kilograms of grapes per hectare.
On the field almost all the operations are carried out manually and only by the persons from the farm. The use of external manpower is used on less important operations and therefore has almost no influence on the final results.
